Online dispute resolution conference today
The Cyberspace Policy Center for Asia Pacific (CPCAP), in cooperation with the Cebu Mediation Foundation Inc. (CMFI), will hold a conference entitled “PH-ODR: A New Era in Dispute Resolution” at 1 p.m. today at the Arctic 1 room of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
CPCAP is a non-profit think tank focused on the role of government in the information age.
It has projects to demonstrate the use of technology for facilitating and improving governance and dispute resolution.
CPCAP has launched in Manila the Philippine Online Dispute Resolution (PH-ODR) service, the first online dispute resolution service in any developing country.
Today’s conference will announce the availability of PH-ODR to businesses and consumers in Cebu, and provide initial training to potential users in the use of PH-ODR.
During the event, updates will be given on the Business Conflicts Mediation Project jointly undertaken by CMFI and the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (CCCI).
Lawyer Claro V. Parlade, executive director of CPCAP, and his team from Manila will speak at the event.
