Judge Mary Ann By Cheking Seares News(boy) Sense
An applicant for judge must state education and work record, character references, and the like.
A judge must have wisdom and probity, yes, but beauty?
Well, here's one applicant offering "beauty and talent," presumably in that order.
I don't know if Talisay City Prosecutor Mary Ann Castro's application says that, but it's what she told her public.
The same public that watches her controversies, such tele-novela stuff as tales of stormy marriage, love triangle, and homicide, and allegations of bribery and misconduct.
She has so far warded off charges of impropriety. She has even become chief prosecutor. How's that for career growth without, her friends stoutly say, having to sleep her way to the top? Judge's life
Beauty on the bench? It can help one escape death by boredom from taking part in, or watching, court proceedings.
In ancient Rome, the judge saw to it the gallery included a beautiful woman, usually a concubine he could bed with after the hearing, before going home.
But would Mary Ann love a judge's life?
She's used to hugging spotlight on center stage, the subject of the dispute or conflict, not its arbiter.
A judge is a recluse, avoiding people and functions where liaison and presence can be dangerous. She can't even sing at karaoke where conduct, not her singing, will be rated.
Or, holy crap, will she bring controversy to the judiciary too?
