Panasonic camera wins award for innovative design
Panasonic’s SV-AV50 digital multimedia camera has received the Best of Innovations Award in the eco-design category during the annual Innovations Awards competition hosted by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).
The camera was selected based on energy-efficient operation and the use of environmentally-conscious materials, components and manufacturing processes. The prestigious Innovations Awards program, which operates in conjunction with the 2005 CES, recognizes products in 27 categories that exemplify excellence in design and engineering. This year, more than 800 entries from 347 companies were evaluated based on innovation, value, aesthetics, and contribution to the quality of life.
“We’re extremely honored to have been chosen for this prestigious award. At Panasonic, we strive to manufacture products that protect the environment through reduced energy consumption and high recyclability,” Panasonic’s director for Corporate Environmental Department David Thompson said.
The product won the award based on the following environmentally-friendly criteria: significant energy savings where the product achieves reduced power consumption through the use of low-gravity circuit technology, resource savings, use of non-hazardous alternative substances and promoting recycling through the use of a recyclable rechargeable lithium ion battery.
Panasonic digital cameras are now available in the Philippines in selected dealers nationwide. For more inquiries, one may visit www.panasonic.com.
