Cabbie who scolded rugby boys murdered

A taxi driver was found dead with stab wounds and other injuries inside his house in Sitio Sinalikway, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City last night.

PO2 Eulysses Reales, of the Mambaling police precinct, said that the morning before victim Morito Cabrera, 57, was killed, he berated a group of children sniffing rugby near his house.

He said even Cabrera’s neighbors and family members believe that the “rugby boys” had knowledge of his death, since the victim did not quarrel with any one else. There were also no signs that a robbery took place.

“The rugby boys were nowhere near his house,” Reales said.

Cabrera’s children last saw him resting inside his house at past 4 p.m. before his death. Upon their return at 6:30 p.m., his children were shocked to see him sprawled face down on the floor.

Except for a hammer near Cabrera’s body, nothing else was found to help identify the culprit or establish the motive of the killing. (AIV)
