Bantayan to get five-star resort
Tourists will soon enjoy the facilities of a five-star beach resort in Bantayan Island, which is located at the northern tip of the province of Cebu.
From May, it will take about a year to build the P50 million Exclusive Luxury Sea Butterfly Resort, said Sea Butterfly Tourism Management Corp. chief executive officer William “Bill” Charlton.
The resort will consist of 72 fully furnished air-conditioned one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. The apartments can accommodate from four to six people.
“Currently, we have constructed already a bar and restaurant and a show apartment,” said Charlton, president of the Bantayan Bars and Restaurants Association.
Charlton has introduced the vacation lease concept to attract foreigners to Cebu and help local resorts upgrade their facilities.
Sea Butterfly will encourage foreign investors to put P1 million into any resort in the Philippines in exchange for a free 10-week vacation yearly for 10 years.
The investor could also opt to invest the P1 million in a prospective resort project, he said. (JBN)
