NEDA invites participants to join Japan study tour

The National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) Regional Office 7 is inviting applicants to participate in the 2005 RP-Japan Friendship Program for the 21st Century extended by the Government of Japan.

The program aims to strengthen friendly and cooperative relations between Asean countries and Japan.

Participants are selected based on categories: Local Administration – civil servants in charge of local administration policy; Education – public elementary and secondary school teachers; and Agriculture – national and local government officials or personnel involved in aquaculture.

Participants are scheduled to depart for Japan on May 11 and return on June 2.

Applicant must be a Filipino citizen, at least 18-35 years old and physically and mentally fit to travel. They must have completed at least two years of service in the organization and permanent employees, directly engaged in the work related to the category or field applied for. They should not have previously stayed in or visited Japan, and have no pending application for scholarship under another study program. Military personnel are not qualified to join the friendship program.

All applicants are required to submit together with their duly accomplished application form, a copy of their passport (valid until December 2006), a photocopy of their birth certificate, certificate of employment on company letterhead, recent medical certificate, original copy of NBI clearance, a certified true copy of undergraduate and post graduate transcript of records, certification of no pending administrative or criminal case, certification of no pending nomination to other local or foreign scholarships, and no pending service obligations from previous trainings attended.

Application forms and the detailed list of requirements are available at the Neda Regional Office 7, Sudlon, Lahug, or at the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) in the Provincial Capitol. Deadline for submission of completed application forms and requirements to Neda 7 is Mar. 11.
