Triathlon bigwigs to join meet in Danao
Triathlon Association of the Philippines (Trap) president Tom Carrasco and RP national team coach Raul Cuevas will be on hand to witness the coming first leg of 2005 Speedo National Age Group Triathlon sprint series slated this March 13 in Danao City.
Carrasco and Cuevas, who will also be meeting organizer and Danao City Councilor Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, will monitor the performances of the national team in the sprint distance in preparation for the coming SEA Games in November.
“We are very proud to host the opening leg of this year’s Speedo-NAGT series in our city which will be graced by no lee than Trap president Tom Carrasco and national team coach Raul Cuevas. Their presence alone add great importance to our event as this year in SEA Games triathlon year,” said Rodriguez.
Among those expected to shine in the event, which is also being co- organized by the Danao City Sports Commission and Team Rambo, are University of the Visayas’ Gerrie Calinawan, newcomer Glenn Tantug of Carcar and Mandaue City’s Trino Rey Trasmonte. (JSV)
