St. Patrick’s Square gives Cebu new commercial complex uptown
Cebuanos will have more dining and shopping choices with the opening of a commercial complex near the Redemptorist Church.
St. Patrick’s Square stands on about 2,500 square meters of land, according to Vicky Alferez, building administrator.
It is now fully occupied with its 13 tenants in the food, spa, Internet café and computer service businesses, among others.
The development is owned by the Salud Borromeo Foundation. The property is called St. Patrick’s Square because when Salud Borromeo was alive, she used to attend Mass at the nearby Redemp-torist Church.
According to Alferez, St. Patrick is the patron saint of the Redemptorist Fathers.
Three tenants are still doing work on their spaces, but one of them will open his store this month, with the rest expected to open by May.
Alferez said the blessing of the complex occurred last June, with some of the tenants opening their stores in September.
There is parking space available for about 48 cars.
So far, the complex has been attracting churchgoers, medical representatives and students from the nearby schools.
On the Feast of St. Patrick on March 17, the tenants at St. Patrick’s Square may offer discounts and other perks to customers, she said.
The Salud Borromeo Foundation also has an old building on Colon St., which has been rented out to Cebu Dragon Brothers, sellers of China products, like shoes, clothes and accessories, Alferez said. (CTL)
