Robbed at home
* Three armed men, apparently expecting a lot of money, entered G & N Townhomes, a fenced and guarded housing facility in Horseshoe Hills, Banawa, Cebu City after divesting the gate guard of his firearm
AFTER disarming the subdivision guards, three armed men barged into a foreigner’s house and ran off with P15,000 cash in Cebu City last night.
The robbers, though, did not hurt Indian businessman Ravender Singh, 26, and his wife when they pulled off the heist around 7:30 p.m., police said.
The robbers fled on two motorcycles.
The family of Singh, a moneylender, occupies a unit in G & N Town-homes, a housing facility on Appaloosa St., Horseshoe Hills, Banawa, Cebu City.
Police said the robbers first disarmed the two entrance guards of their service firearms–-a shotgun and a .38 revolver—then broke into Singh’s house.
The victim’s house is located just 50 meters away from the main gate, said Supt. Pablo Labra II, head of the Cebu City police investigation and intelligence bureau.
The suspects apparently believed that the Indian national kept a lot of cash in his house, Labra said.
Investigation showed the two robbers ordered Singh, his wife and a housemaid to lie face down while they ransacked the house.
Their third companion acted as a lookout outside, keeping the two security guards hapless at gunpoint, Labra said.
The robbers found P15,000 cash on Singh, Labra said. (GC)
