Guardo sportsfest starts in Bantayan today
ALL roads lead to Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island as the Island Sports Holiday’s three-pronged competition starts today.
The Holy Week sportsfest, supported by Osaka Iridoligy, will feature the Sprint Triathlon (750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike, 5km run), Ocean Man (100m swim, 600m run), Tri-Team Challenge (200m swim, 5km run, 1.5km run) and Bancarrera (1km paddle) events.
The Sprint Triathlon will be clustered into the Male 19-Under, 20-29, 30-Above and the Female Open.
The top three winners in each category will receive P4,000, P3,000 and P2,000, respectively, while the top three winners in Ocean Man, Tri-Team Challenge and Bancarrera will receive P1,500, P1,000 and P500.
The Sprint Triathlon blasts off today, Ocean Man tomorrow and Tri-Team Challenge and Bancarrera on Saturday and Sunday, correspondingly.
This Holy Week adventure is organized by Funsports with the support of the Local Government of Bantayan Island.
Registration is P500 for Sprint Triathlon and P200 each for Ocean Man, Tri-Team Challenge and Bancarrera.

Meanwhile, Osaka Iridology chief executive officer Jonathan Guardo, also the Cebu City Sports Commission chief, said that the CCSC’s plan to stage more triathlon events in the City will definitely push through. He said it is currently preparing for a triathlon event at the South Reclamation Project. (JSV )
