SirLitz cage clinic mixes US, Korean training methods
THE Koreans’ shooting and excellent footwork are the reasons South Korea is a basketball power in Asia.
Aiming to share those qualities to young Cebuanos, SirLitz One-on-One Basketball Clinic director Edsel Vallena has added these to his program along with US methods.
“Koreans are always deadly outside shooters. Even during the time of Sen Dong Pah when they played for the ABC title in Manila. His shooting was always a threat,” said Vallena.
On the other hand, Korean footwork, Vallena described, is very effective as it gives a player extra quickness on defense and allows them to take more room on offense.
Korea, with the support of its home crowd and a lot of preparation, beat the much-favored China in the Asian Games in Busan, South Korea in 2002.
The SirLitz One-on-One Basketball Clinic opens on April 4 at the Guadalupe Sports Complex at 1 p.m.
Reservations and registrations will be entertained at 264-6087 or at 0916-6516260. Enrollment will start on March 28 to April 4 at the Guadalupe Sports Complex. Registration fee is P900 inclusive of a reversible jersey, ball and T-shirt. (RCM)
