Mitsubishi Motors Cebu calls Montero Sport ‘best-value SUV’

WANT to zip across the city in a cool sport utility vehicle?

Your next stop should be Mitsubishi Motors Cebu Corp., where the 2.8L Montero Sport, a mid-sized four-wheel-drive SUV, is just waiting to break loose.

Rene Poro, general manager of vehicle sales and marketing, described the diesel-powered vehicle as “the best-value SUV because at its price, you can get a 4X4.”

The power of its engine is the same as that of the much pricier Mitsubishi Pajero, “a rally-proven car,” he told Sun.Star.

The Montero is retailing for about P1.585 million.

The five-seater is targeted at the sportsman and as an alternative vehicle for corporate executives.

It has a 74-liter fuel tank capacity. And with a 500mm wading depth, and generous approach/departure/ramp break-over angles, “nothing stands between you and off-road fun,” Mitsubishi said.

The fog lamps, sporty side stepboards and rear spoiler with third LED brake lamp give the Montero its sporty look.

Inside, its cool features include a black marble finish control panel, white meter cluster, genuine leather seats and door trims, and ergonomically designed dashboard.

The Montero aims to give the rival 2.5-liter Ford Everest sport utility vehicle a run for its money. CTL
