JVC badminton tilt opens today

THE Cebu leg of the JVC Open reels off today at the Metrosports Badminton Club.

The tournament will divide the field into the Juniors (16-Under), Elite and Intercollegiate Invitational Team competition.

Participants clash in Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles events.

The winners will be sent to Manila to take on the Luzon and Mindanao winners at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City.

The tournament, organized by IMG, is now on its fifth year but this is the first time it will be held outside Manila.

Other regional tournaments will be held in Davao (May 9-13) and Bacolod (May 16-20).

JVC general manager Kazue Salud will attend today’s opening ceremony.

The JVC Open Regional Tournament is supported by Cebu Pacific, Gosen, Waterfront Hotels and Casinos, Lactacyd and Accel. (Jo Tessa S. Bañez/STC Masscom Intern)
