Moneywise: Selling old items, buying cheap things
During these times when every peso counts, consumers would naturally want to stretch their budget. Well, there are low-priced, second-hand items that are good finds.
Cebu Thrift House located in downtown Cebu has these items.
Friza Colipano, an employee, said they sell a variety of goods like furniture, appliances, houseware, personal apparel and school supplies at very low prices.
Ulysses Cabinatan, an employee of a multinational corporation, buys old books and magazines at Cebu Thrift House.
"I can buy a Time magazine as cheap as P2. Pocket books are also cheap," he said. Magazine prices range from P2 to P12. Old Readers Digest copies are also sold for P6 to P26.
Chance to earn
Cebu Thrift House also gives its customers the chance to earn. "This business is actually a buy and sell one. We buy old items. Prices vary depending on the quality," Colipano said.
So hurry, check out the stuff at your home that still has value and sell them. ALC
