Blue Marlin tankers win 19 gold medals

Four members of the Cebu Blue Marlins Swimming club racked up 19 gold medals in the Summer Learn To Swim Program’s culminating activity at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Angelo Terezo Yap had six gold medals in the 6-Under Boys after topping the dog-paddle swim, front glide with flutter kick with board, freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke.

Danielle Mae Ballesteros also had six in the 7-8 category. Ballesteros topped the dog paddle, front glide with flutter kick, elementary back with sculling, freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.

Karen Elizabeth Barand added five for the Blue Marlins in the 9-10 years old. Brand had her golden finish in the dog-paddle swim, front glide with flutter kick, elementary back with sculling, freestyle and backstroke, and added a silver in the breaststroke.

The Blue Marlins got two gold medals from Sabrina Faith Kho in the Girls 6-Under after she topped the freestyle, breaststroke and dog-paddle swim all inside 12.5 meters.

Marco Brandon Rosaroso added a bronze in the 25m dog paddle swim.

Other members of the Club who joined the swim meet were Vito Santino Clavano, Pierre Niño Baguio, David Dima-ano Bo Cañizares, Augustine Manuel Pe, Gabriel Lamparas, Santiano Virgil Carlos, Michael Franz and Christian Kyle Jumao-as.

Also in the meet were Valerie Gilligan, Jesper Marie Peñalosa, Kimberly Abigail Gubatao, Hazel Sua, Maryfel Angeli Peñaranda, Monigue Abigail Gubatao, Diandra Mae Reyes and Pamela Meil Baguio. (ML)
