Sisos take on each other in semis

Siblings Sallydine and Sally Mae Siso again reached a point in their young tennis careers where they need to treat each other as rivals instead of family as set up a semifinals duel yesterday in the Adidas National Juniors Tennis Tournament in
Cagayan de Oro City.

The Siso sisters will try to outplay each other as they eye a seat in the 14-Under Girls Division Finals.

The elder Sallydine secured a semis seat following her lopsided 6-0, 6-0 victory over Abagail Bangcale of Butuan City, while the younger Sally Mae cruised past Team Cebu City Tennis teammate Kristel Mae Buenacosa, 6-2, 6-2.

Sally Mae, however, put one up against her older sister as she secured a seat in the 12-Under Girls division.

On the way to setting a finals match-up versus Kara Uy of Cagayan de Oro City, Sally Mae demolished Massy Narvasa of Tangub City, 6-0, 6-0, in the semis.

Another Siso sibling, Bernardine, also of Team Cebu City, scored a victory in the quarterfinals of the 12-Under boys division after he upended Francis Direk Alcantara of Cagayan de Oro City, 6-1, 6-1.

Niño will square off in the semis today with Juan Paolo Fermin of Bukidnon.

He is also on track in his campaign in the higher 14-Under Boys division as he made it into the quarterfinal round, where he will face a player from Marawi City. (JSV)
