Superbalita 9-ball Class B opens
The Class B competition of the Sun.Star Superbalita 9-Ball Challenge gets off the wraps today at Plaza Fair’s Brother Jon Billiard Hall on Colon St.
Cue artists will battle for spots in the championship, which will be held on June 23 at the SM City-Cebu Trade Hall.
The Class B tournament offers a top prize of P20,000, while the runners-up will receive P10,000, P5,000 and P2,000.
Registration is P500, while those who will bring five Superbalita mastheads will get a 50 percent discount. Registration is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.
Superbalita, the biggest selling newspaper in the Visayas, has brought the tournament to a larger scale with the entry of co-presentor Touch Mobile and Rocketman Enterprises, which will air the games over IBC 13.
Aside from the Class B event, there are also the Elementary, High School and Women’s Open divisions.
The centerpiece event of the three-week competitions is the battle for Class A championship, which will have the biggest names of Philippine billiards vying for the P100,000 top purse.
The corporate sponsors are Touch Mobile, SM City-Cebu, Isuzu Cebu and Mandaue, GraphicStar, and Alcordo Advertising. (GCM)
