24 out-of-town games to be played in Cesafi

The 2005 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) basketball season, set to blast off on July 31, will feature a whooping 24 out-of-town games.

On a related note, the Women’s division, which proved to be a smash hit in its inaugural season last year, will only feature four teams after the Southwestern University Women’s basketball program disbanded just this summer.

The other remaining teams are University of San Carlos, Cebu Institute of Technology, University of San Jose-Recoletos and University of Cebu.

The league, which will also implement the home-and-away format to give every member school a chance to stage the games, will feature games in Pardo, Mandaue, Minglanilla and Tabunok as part of its new innovation to draw more fans.

Each of the four out-of-town venues will host two tripleheaders apiece with the Tabunok Gym, set to host a three-game playdate on Aug. 6 and another on Sept. 24, getting the first chance.

Minglanilla is next in line on Aug. 13 and Sept. 17. The Mandaue Sports and Cultural Complex will host the games on Aug. 20, followed by the Pardo Gym on Aug. 25. (GCM)
