CFIF kicks off roadshows for next year’s Cebu X

THE Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation Inc. (CFIF) will launch this Thursday the Cebu International Furniture and Furnishings Exhibition (Cebu X) 2006.

According to a statement, CFIF will conduct a series of roadshows in different areas in the country beginning this month to promote an increase in regional participation in its exhibit and trade fair next year.

CFIF’s tour will start in Bacolod on July 19, as the organization will meet with the Association of Negros Producers to encourage members of the organization to join the event next year.

On July 20, the organization will go to the New World Rennaisance Hotel in Makati City, Manila.

CFIF, the primary support organization of the Philippine furniture export industry in the last 31 years, is the organizer of Cebu X, an annual event that helps furniture manufacturers showcase their products to international buyers.

During the Cebu X 2006, CFIF will introduce the organization’s value-added-services that will not only target exhibitors and international buyers but to “valued partners and sponsors as well.”

The four-day event, which will be held on Feb. 26 to March 1, opens the series of more than 20 furniture fairs in Asia.

“This annual international trade fair in the Philippines remains to be the freshest of the Asian fairs and has been tagged as one of the most well attended and sought after international furniture show in Southeast Asia,” the CFIF statement said.Cebu X 2005 saw buyer numbers go up 19 percent to 1,627 from last year’s buyer count of 1,363.

Sales also increased by four percent to $27.4 million from the $26.4 generated in last year’s show. JBN
