Cebuana Lhuillier Slo-pitch Invitational today

After teaching more than 50 enthusiasts in the clinic, the Cebuana Lhuillier and Le Soliel de Boracay will take their game into the diamond field in the one-day Cebuana Lhuillier Slo-Pitch Invitational Tournament at the Cebu Boardwalk in Mandaue City today.

Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (Asaphil) slo-pitch commissioner Jean-Henri Lhuillier was very impressed with the warm reception of the Cebuanos during yesterday’s four-hour clinic, which had participants ranging from elementary students to young professionals.

Today, Lhuillier and his players will parade their wares that won them the 22nd Southeast Slo-Pitch, Bangkok International League and back-to-back Pangaea super division crowns as they play against two Cebuano teams in a single round-robin tournament.

They will be up against Cebu powerhouse Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology Skyblazers and the Cebu Flag Football Selection.

The opening game will pit SCSIT vs. the CFFL Selection at 8 a.m. followed by the Cebuana Lhuillier against its sister team Le Soleil de Boracay at 9:30 a.m. The top two finishers will vie for the title slated at 3:45 p.m.

After the championship Cebu coordinator Rayner Sangil has scheduled a batting challenge for the top four batters in each team.
