Some of of Cebu’s local officials fired back at former senator John “Sonny” Osmeña for his allegation that President Arroyo only won in Cebu in last year’s elections through massive vote-padding. One congressman called for the reopening of ballot boxes and a recount.
Former Cebu governor Pablo Garcia said Osmeña wanted to be appointed as the secretary of finance or agriculture but he failed to get it.
“That’s why he just talked about the alleged fraud now. It is because the Cabinet positions have been filled and he was not (included),” Pablo said.
