Bo’s Coffee opens at IT park, eyes new outlet in Mactan
Coffee buffs at Asia-town IT Park need not go far for a much-needed cup.
This, as Bo’s Coffee Club opened yesterday a franchised outlet at the Engineering Sciences Building.
Coffee Centrale, the Bean Co. Inc. president Steve Benitez said this is the 11th Bo’s outlet in Cebu.
It is also the first franchised store in Cebu and the eighth nationwide.
Bo’s, a Cebu-grown company, began operations in 1996. It now has 24 stores in the country.
It will open its 25th store in SM Makati in the last quarter of this year, Benitez told Sun.Star Cebu.
But he said franchise opportunities in Cebu would be limited.
“Maybe two or three more stores for franchise in Cebu will do. We’re planning to offer one in Mactan,” he said.
Kristelle Lynne Ong, one of five partners holding the franchise for Bo’s Asiatown outlet, said: “We chose Bo’s because it won’t be difficult for us to market. Plus, our advantage here is that we are in a very strategic place where more than 1,000 employees of call centers and other companies are.”
The 10-story Engineering Sciences Building houses firms like Dash Engineering, SPI Technology and e-Telecare, a call center company.
The Asiatown café is the only Bo’s store that is open 24 hours a day.
Benitez said they expect the peak hours for Bo’s at Asiatown to be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Bo’s Coffee shops are located in Ayala Center Cebu, SM City Cebu, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Capitol Site, Raintree Mall, Robinson’s Place and City Sports Club Cebu.
It also has stores in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Iloilo, Bohol, Tacloban City, Batangas City and Metro Manila.
Bo’s sources 90 percent of its beans from the mountains of Bukidnon and Benguet, in line with its aim to support local farmers and promoting local beans, a statement said. (ALC)
