San Sebastian wins 3 straight in Espiritu Cup

AFTER dropping its first game, the San Sebastian College Recoletos-Cavite Stags extended their winning streak to three by methodically dismantling Mediarix, 78-69, Saturday in the 9th Danny Espiritu Cup at Washington Gym in Makati City.

In the other game, the star-studded Pamplona Station finally barged into the winning column as it held on to a win over the Manuel L. Quezon University Stallions, 83-76.

Forward Gleen Bolocon was a dominant force once again as the 6-foot-4 forward scattered a game-high 23 points in leading the Stags, who were never threatened.

Mark Yee also had a solid play with 19 points to add as the Stags posted a comfortable 49-36 lead by halftime.

Pamplona raced to an early 28-20 lead and never turned back as Carlso Sario and JP Pacheco shone with 17 points apiece, relegating their more celebrated teammates to supporting roles.

Ex-pro Peter Naron came away with 14 points, while 6-9 man mountain Bonel Balingit and youthful 6-9 Davaoeño Samigue Eman combined for 17 points for Pamplona, which now holds a 1-2 record in the tournament backed by San Miguel, Air21, Baker’s Fair, Funtastic KTV, Gen. Milling Corp., Spring Cooking Oil and Prime Channel.
