NRBA edges Tejero in friendly match
In an all-star friendly between two of the best civic-league squads in the city, the New Ramos Basketball Association All-Stars pulled off a thrilling 90-87 victory over the Tejero Archers Basketball Association All-Stars at the Ramos-Cogon Gym Tuesday night.
Ex-University of Cebu (UC) stalwart Glen Barao scored 26 points, while ex-pro playmaker Mark Anthony Tallo chipped in with 18 points to lead NRBA to a big second-half outburst. The steady play of NRBA eventually clinched the match, which Taba controlled early.
Four 3-pointers
George Buranday buried four triples, while Arthur Cejudo and Arman Albia turned in sterling performances to lead Taba to a huge first half, but NRBA battled back in the third quarter with stifling defense that pushed back all offensive thrusts by Taba.
Clutch scoring by Barao, Tallo, Yok Alesna and Dong Del Villar allowed NRBA to contain Taba in the endgame.
