Espina named new CVCB director
Dr. Mila C. Espina was named the new executive director of the Cebu Visitors and Convention Bureau (CVCB) during the press launch of the International Culinary Congress (Iccon) 2005 last Aug. 5 at the Café Theatro in Crossroads.
Department of Tourism (DOT) 7 director Patria Aurora Roa made the announcement on behalf of CVCB founding chairman Patrick Gregorio.
Espina was elected unanimously by the board of directors without any arguments, Roa said, citing Espina’s extensive experience as an events specialist, as well as her background in several organizations here.
Iccon will be held on Sept. 22-23 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Gregorio, who is now based in Subic, said he would continue his support for CVCB, as well as come to Cebu whenever he is needed by the bureau which he first headed.
Iccon aims to promote Cebu as a culinary hub, home of culinary icons and first-class cuisine in its famous restaurants.
