Hyundai promises savings on fuel with diesel-powered compact SUV

A COMPACT sport utility vehicle (SUV) from Hyundai prides itself in its use of diesel, which is more economical than the gasoline that other SUVs use.

“I think it’s one of the few, if not the only, SUVs sold in Cebu that use diesel,” said Lowell Belarmino, sales manager of Hyundai (Cebu) Inc., of the Hyundai Tucson.

The Hyundai Tucson competes with other SUVs like Nissan X-Trail, Honda CR-V and Ford Escape.

Launched in Cebu last April, Hyundai Tucson is gaining growth in sales, he said.

With four-speed automatic transmission, Hyundai Tucson has a 2-liter CRDi (common real direct injection with intercooler turbo) engine that ensures power on demand without the driver spending much on fuel.

Equipped with safety and convenience features like a driver’s side airbag, anti-lock brake system, traction control system, fog lamps, multiple storage box and alarm with remote control, Hyundai Tucson promises versatile performance on rough roads and paved highways.

Comfort

Aside from hydraulic shock absorbers and 21 mm anti-roll bar front suspension, Hyundai Tucson also sports a long wheelbase that promises better riding comfort and bigger legroom despite its size compared to most other compact SUVs.

Sold for P1.2 million, the Hyundai Tucson has a very competitive price, said Belarmino.

It comes with a three-year warranty. ALC
