IT provider to help businesses go online
TAGBILARAN CITY - Small businesses in Bohol will soon have an online portal on which they can market their products and services, if an entrepreneur’s plans push through.
Jerome Auza of IT solutions provider Auza.net said during yesterday’s opening of the 1st Bohol Internet and Net Security Conference that his company is planning to put up an online marketing portal for Bohol businesses.
Auza said in an interview that the company is currently in talks with the Department of Trade and Industry for possible government backing of the project.
The portal will be hosted in www.smallbizbohol.com.
With the online portal, Auza said it would be cheaper for Bohol businesses to market products and services online because they would just be paying minimal annual dues and not spend for the hosting themselves.
Auza said the project would likely be finalized within the next six months. The two-day conference at Bohol Tropics is organized by Auza.net, RayNetworks Inc., Kaizen Internetwor-king and the Holy Name University ECE class of 2006.
Connected
Bohol provincial administrator Thomas Abapo Sr., who spoke for Gov. Erico Aumentado, also announced yesterday that the province’s electronic library is now connected to libraries of major universities in the country as well as abroad.
The e-library was launched two weeks back, Abapo said.
Aumentado and Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Neri Lim were initially scheduled to welcome the delegates but both were away on official trips. (MTL)
