Marriott associates visit children’s home
As part of its commitment to community service, Cebu City Marriott Hotel (CCMH) associates set aside a day to visit the Sto. Niño Children’s Home, which houses about 40 children, in Kandagit, Sibonga, Cebu.
Headed by general manager Karl Hudson, they served lunch to the children and turned over to them boxes of assorted items including soaps, biscuits, sandwich spreads, canned goods, rice, noodles, milk, cooking oil and eggs.
“Children are special and we at the Marriott would like to have that feeling be known to them,” said Hudson.
The Sto. Niño Children’s Home was founded by Fr. Butch Malana, who started his mission for special children 15 years ago. Many of these children were abandoned in birth, each one having a unique case and story to tell.
The hotel continuously works in line with the Marriott International’s “Spirit to Serve” initiative. Another ongoing community program of the CCMH is its support for the SOS Children’s Village since 1999. CCMH helps raise funds and creates year-round activities for the benefit of the village.
