Cheaper pouch service available
Realizing the demand for a more secure and efficient delivery service, the Philippine Postal Corp. (Philpost) has implemented the Express Pouch Service.
Philpost’s Express Pouch Service is around 10 to 15 percent cheaper compared to private courier services.
The prices of Philpost’s pouch services range from P70 to P115 for the land route and P80-P175 for the air route, depending on the weight of the packages.
The service guarantees that the mail will be delivered anywhere in the country the next day, with an assurance of a “two-way service” in selected areas either by land or by air.
Reliable
Philpost 7 Information Officer Josephine Layco said the two-way service means that the sender of the package will also be getting a delivery receipt within 24 hours.
Layco said they are hoping to ease the inconvenience experienced by big businesses in exchanging documents and information with their different branches within the country through a reliable and consistent delivery service.
Layco added that with the new pouch service mail, senders can be assured of privacy since each document will be placed inside a pouch and will be delivered intact.
The sender fills out a delivery receipt, which will include specific instructions on the delivery.
Options
The sender can opt to have the receipt faxed back to him or sent through email or through text message.
After two failed attempts at delivering the mail, the mail will be retained by the delivery post for a maximum of three days and then sent back to the sender.
The Express Pouch Service Office is mandated to encode all delivery information including undelivered mails.
To make sure that they will be able to deliver the mail in 24 hours, Philpost has selected the areas where it will implement the Express Pouch Service.
These include the cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Cotabato, General Santos, Iloilo, Legaspi, Mandaue, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Tacloban, Tagbilaran, Zamboanga and Kalibo town in Aklan for the air route.
Areas for the land route include Pampanga, San Fernando, Angeles City, Clark Air Base, Tagaytay, San Pablo and Lucena City. (LLV)
