CVCB exec eyes more int’l events

Newly appointed Cebu Visitors and Convention Bureau (CVCB) executive director Mila Espina aims to bring in more international conventions and events to Cebu.

Espina said her priority also includes increasing the number of CVCB members and encouraging the existing members to participate in the organization’s upcoming events, such as the International Culinary Congress on Sept. 22 to 23 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino and the Queen City Run 2005 on Nov. 19 at the Asiatown IT Park.

Espina’s appointment came after CVCB founding chairman Patrick Gregorio, former president of Waterfront Philippines, was appointed director-general of the newly formed Subic and Clark Area Development Corp.

“She has been active in the tourism sector in Cebu. I believe she is the best person to be on top of the organization because she has the passion for the industry,” Gregorio said of Espina. (JBN)
