Siso siblings share four titles in CDO tourney
Siso siblings Niño and Sally Mae Siso combined to haul four championship titles at the Prince-Nassau National Junior Tennis Championships-Cagayan de Oro Leg and somewhat made up for a bittersweet day that also featured a couple of championship-round setbacks by Cebuano netters Kennex Abadia and Sallydine Siso.
Niño and Sally Mae, both playing for University of San Carlos (USC)-South Campus, went on a big final-day run at CDO’s Philippine Sinter Corp. Tennis Courts yesterday, where they monopolized the ownership of the 12-Under and 14-U titles.
Niño bagged the Boys 12-U title with a 6-2, 6-3 finals win over Fritz Verdad of Pagadian City, and followed it up with a title-winning 6-3, 6-2 victory over Davao City’s Andre Dizon in the Boys 14-U finals.
Sally Mae, on the other hand, aced the Girls 12-U championship with a 6-2, 6-0 finals conquest of CDO’s Kathleen Uy, and defeated sister Sallydine, 6-3, 6-4, for the Girls 14-U crown. (GCM)
