Salvation Army Cebu to mark anniversary

The Salvation Army Cebu Central Corps and Learning Center will celebrate its 68th anniversary today, Sept. 18.

Theme is “A Heart to Harvest Souls.” The celebration will be held at the T. Padilla Sports Complex at 3-10 p.m.

There will be a March of Witness from The Salvation Army Center to the venue to be led by Major Romeo Asuncion, the corps officer/pastor and school administrator, together with Major Bless Asuncion, corps officer and assistant administrator, followed by the Cebu Central Corps local officers, Learning Center kids and their parents, Sunday schoolers, junior soldiers, young people, women’s and men’s fellowship, senior soldiers and friends.

Activities include a thanksgiving service to be attended by Rev. Charles Scott from Atlanta, USA; induction of the PTA officers of all levels with T. Padilla Barangay Captain Mike Ralota; a praise jam concert with speaker Sgt. Victor Felipe; basketball tournament with P/Major Epifanio Montajes as inspirational speaker; and a victory song to be led by the Praise and Worship Team.

The officers are: Nursery level – president, Florencio E. Balane Jr.; vice-president, Lilibeth Sales; secretary, Guadalupe Salvador; treasurer, Annabelle Bacule; auditor, Sheryl Coyoca; PROs, Ronnie Mendrez/Leonora Orbeta; Kinder 1 – president, P/Major Epifanio Montajes; vice-president, Emelisa Fernan; secretary, Letecia Misa; treasurer, Nerissa Buayaban; auditor, Antonio Vega; PROs, Luthgarda Legaspi/Liza Edullanntes; sgts. at arms, Ricky Villaflor/Nonito Marbebe;

Kinder 2 – president, Florena Nuñez; vice-President, Jon Baldago; secretary, Norma Caguete; treasurer, Jean Pedros; auditor, Noneto Ranay; PROs, Al Contreras, Rubi Chua.

The teachers are Benjie Joy Laplana and Fe C. Gallardo.
