Yu lifts Eco-Tech vs. Maxxis in overtime
Wellington Yu’s three-point play off an offensive rebound with three seconds remaining powered Eco-Tech to a 100-98 overtime victory Friday over Maxxis Tires in the 2005 Cebu Eastern College Friendship Cup’s doubleheader at the CEC Gym.
The other match of the night likewise went the extra mile before Osaka Iridology, powered by the 45-point performance of Noly Romarate, pulled off a 120-117 win over Disston Paints in the 32-Above division.

With his team trailing by one, 97-98, Yu, a 6-foot-4 former Cebu Doctors’ College (CDC) stalwart, saved a botched Eco-Tech play by securing the offensive rebound, converting on the putback and drawing a foul in the process.
