Pinoy space car inventor gets P20M aid for project
Filipino inventor and Spacecar technologies chief executive officer Jose Guardo Jr. inked a P20 million deal with Domingo Penaloza, the Filipino-Canadian chairman and chief finance officer of UBC Bearing of America and Maglev Vision Corp., last week.
The funds will be for the development of a prototype of Guardo’s invention, the space car.
Spacecar Technologies will be joined by scientists, doctors and physicists from the University of Shanghai and Shanghai Normal University of the People’s Republic of China.
Scientists
Among them are Dr. Lehan Wei, who holds the patent for the Chinese magnetic array train, and Professor Zhang Gang, who conducted an intensive research on electromagnetic bearing and frictionless magnetic gearing system for UBC Bearing of America.
Both Wei and Gang have expressed willingness to forge a collaboration for the immediate commercialization of the cost-effective Filipino-Sino magnetic levitation train or car, a counterpart Maglev System that is cheaper than the Maglev Systems developed in Japan and Germany.
The Maglev digital car or space car is expected to debut in the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. (PR)
