Carolinians sweep assignments in Milo Best basketball tourney
The University of San Carlos North Campus (USC-NC) scored twin kills in the 15th Milo Best Small Basketeers of the Philippines/Passerelle Tournament at the Capitol Parish Gym Sunday.
USC-NC’s Passerelle squad debuted with a close victory over the University of Cebu, 70-66, while USC-NC A drubbed the debuting University of Southern Philippines, 65-44, in the SBP division to complete a USC sweep.
Top scorer
Nico Magat topscored with 14 points to lead USC-NC in the Passerelle match, while Nilton Otida added 13.
USC-NC now leads bracket A with a 1-0 win-loss card as UC dropped its first game after two outings.
Crismar Otero had a breakout game in the SBP division with 12 points to lead the USC-NC offensive, while Dave Guardiario’s 19-point binge went for naught with little help from his USP teammates.
USC-NC now holds a 1-1 win-loss card to trail defending champion USC-South Campus A, which totes a 2-0 slate.
