Talk back: Lapu-Lapu tricycle fare
By Vincent Joseph C. Lim
Lapu-Lapu City Attorney

This is a reaction to the TextComplaint of a certain Romy (Sun.Star Cebu, Sept. 13, 2005).

It has become evident that Romy has not been keeping himself abreast of the laws.

Supervision over tricycles has already been devolved to the local government units, thus the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has nothing to do with them.

The Lapu-Lapu City Council held a public hearing on the increase of fares and I can only presume Romy did not attend it.

The Ordinance that was approved by the Council designated the office of the City Attorney, which has supervision over all motorcycles for hire (MCH), to distribute the new tariff rates.
