New food stall to open in mall
A MULTI-AWARDED company in Manila that boasts of its concept of innovating sidewalk selling will soon open an outlet in one of the malls in Cebu.
“There is a lot of business potential in Cebu for food products with its many strategic places like schools, malls and transportation terminals,” Reymont Choa-chuy, president and founder of Sam’s Everything on Sticks, said in an interview.
Sam’s Everything on Sticks uses modern technology in processing its products, like kikiam, siomai, squid ball, lumpia, beef flavored sauces, crystal clear gulaman and other tasty Filipino favorite food items while selling them at very competitive prices, ranging from P10 to P20.
Safety
Cleanliness, food safety and affordability are the company’s strengths, he said.
It is a recipient of the 2004 Philippine Marketing Excellence Award’s Most Promising New Cart Franchise, 2004 Buyers’ Choice Award’s Most Outstanding New Franchise and 2005 Products and Services Excellence Award’s Innovative Food Cart Business.
Choachuy is a Cebuano entrepreneur who stayed in Manila and invested in the business of “professionalized” sidewalk selling in 2003.
The company established its first two outlets in Tutuban Mall and the Buendia LRT Station.
It went full blast in franchising the following year. Choachuy said they have now 40 outlets in Luzon and two in Davao.
Potentials
“We are eyeing opening eight to 10 more in Mindanao,” he said.
In Davao, its franchise outlet earns an average of P5,000 per day, he added.
However, Choachuy noted that Cebu has more business potentials.
So aside from putting up a company-owned outlet, he said the company will welcome partners in Cebu by offering franchising opportunities. (ALC)
