Air21 releases Pingris, Billones to PF

PUREFOODS Chun-kee has acquired the services Marc Pingris and Egay Billones from the Air21 Express in exchange for a conditional first-round draft pick.

The trade, which was formalized last Friday, was done by the Express to dispose two extra players and finalize their roster for the coming season-opening Reinforced Conference on Oct. 2.

Although the 6-foot-4 Pingris has failed to shine in the last season with his meager averages of 4.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in a 13.6-minute exposure per game, he’s still expected to receive a considerable amount of playing time in Purefoods’ camp.

This is because Pingris, the third overall pick by Air21 in the 2004 draft, will be filling in the vacuum to be left by the Giants’ top forward, Mike Hrabak, who is reportedly still not in tip-top shape. (JSV)
