Coaches, parents to attend inquiry

The Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. is set to probe the volleyball controversy involving the University of Southern Philippines (USP) and Don Bosco Technological College (DBTC) last Sept. 18.

DBTC athletic director Bro. Mari Aberasturi said he was informed by University of the Visayas’ Chris Mejarito that they will be called to an inquiry anytime this week to shed light on the incident.

“We will be waiting for their call,” Aberasturi said. “I will attend it together with the player and the coach and also some of the parents want to attend it because they were witnesses.”

Admission

Aberasturi earlier urged the Cesafi board to investigate USP coach Cecil Jotojot, who admitted to having drank a bottle of beer when he confronted DBTC’s Daryl Recalde during their game last Sunday.

Jotojot told Sun.Star Cebu that he had a bottle of beer only after USP’s final game, and he only confronted Recalde after being informed that the DBTC player bumped and threatened one of his players.

After the incident, members of the Special Weapons and Tactics arrived and escorted the DBTC team out of the Aznar Coliseum. (ML)
