Council members compete in PCL sports tourney

From legislative action to hard-court action.

Councilors from all over Cebu will sweat it out in four sports as part of the celebration of the Philippine Councilors League Sports Month Tournament at different venues this month.

The elimination round for badminton, volleyball, bowling and basketball started last Sept. 9 and the finals will be played tomorrow.

Cash prizes and trophies will be given to the winners of this year’s sports tournament, which follows the theme “Moving on Towards Togetherness.”

Bowling finals

Bowling will be played at the SM City Bowling Center and this year’s finalists are the councilors of the first, second, fourth and fifth district, while volleyball will be played at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Center.

In the semifinals, the third district will face the fifth district, while the second district will take on the fourth district for the right to play in the finals.

After the volleyball contest, the basketball finals will follow also at the Mandaue complex. In the first game, the third district will play the first district before the second take on the fifth in the second semis.

Badminton will be played at the Courtyard also on the same day and the first semifinal match will pit the fifth district against the sixth, while the next match will be between the first and the third districts. (ML)
