Orange Drew awarded best innovative drink

Orange Drew Juice Drink of Alternative Foods Manufacturing Corp. was recently awarded as the no. 1 Innovative Juice Drink in Metro Cebu by the 2005 National Shoppers’ Choice Awards.

Orange Drew was launched in November last year and now has around 2,000 retail outlets in Metro Cebu alone.

“This is the alternative to expensive drinks,” Andrew S. Quiñones, one of the owners, said.

He added that the drink uses water that has undergone 16 purification processes and 100% sugar. It is non-carbonated and has nutritional values.

The 7-ounce variant is sold at P3 while the 12-ounce variant is sold at P5. To ensure quality and cleanliness of the product, Alternative Foods employs field and quality salespeople to monitor good dispensing practices in all their retail outlets.

Quiñones also stressed that this is not all about business. They also want to educate consumers on the ill effects of drinking soft drinks, magic sugar and unclean ice.

With their retail outlets in sari-sari stores, schools, and carenderias, they also create entrepreneurs who create jobs. One could earn a P200 profit per container.

They also want the public to be aware of copycats sprouting everywhere. Their application for intellectual property rights is in process.

Orange Drew is now expanding through a franchise system under RK Franchise Corp. Since two months ago, they already have 10 franchises in Zamboanga city, Cagayan de Oro city, Dumaguete, Tagbilaran, Bogo, Mandaue, Laguna, Lapu-Lapu city, Davao and Las Piñas. (Emily Jade B. Valero)
