Robbers on bike hold up Danao store

Two months after it was robbed, a store in Poblacion, Danao City again lost cash to three armed men Thursday night.

One of the robbers fired his gun thrice at the desk of storeowner Amelita Tse, who was sitting at the cashier’s counter, to frighten her.

The robbers did not wear masks, said Tse, owner of Tse Guim Store on Rizal St.

Police could not yet determine how much money was lost.

A caller told the Danao City Police Station that the store was robbed. The three men fled aboard a red motorcycle and headed south.

Customers

SPO4 Teofilo Deguilmo of the Danao City Police Station said the three robbers entered Tse Guim at 6:20 p.m., pretending to be customers.

Suddenly, they pulled out their firearms and two of them declared a holdup.

Security guard Tomas Derecho Barbero tried to fight back, but one of the robbers was quick to point a gun at him.

Cash

The robber took Barbero’s service .38 revolver, while his companions took the cash and a check from the register.

The three then fled.

A hot pursuit was launched, but no one was arrested.

Responding policemen recovered a deformed slug from a .45 pistol from the store.

Rogues’ gallery

When they were shown photos from the police rogues’ gallery, Tse and Barbero couldn’t identify anyone.

They said the robbers were in their mid-thirties.

Police also said this was not the first time the store was robbed.

The store also lost money to three robbers about two months ago, but police could not give complete details yet of the first incident. (MEA)
