Firm launches website solution system for SMEs

A Cebu-based company has launched an instrument that may help small and medium enterprises cope with global competition.

Philippe Poppe, president of Argo Hosting, said the company has developed a website content management system that enables small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to manage and maintain their websites on their own without an Internet programmer.

Professional look

Apart from that, Argo Hosting Solution will also give SME websites a professional look and, thus, achieve a corporate credibility.

Argo Hosting is an Internet application provider based at the Cebu Light Industrial Park in Lapu-Lapu City.

While there are available sites on the Internet that provide free website management solutions, Poppe said the advantages of Argo Hosting is its simplicity.

Simple

“With a few simple clicks, they can change the content, add pictures, manage an event calendar or create a web shop. All the tools are there,” said Poppe in an interview during the launching of Argo Hosting.

He added that while the system has been “dummified” (so easy to use such that even dummies can operate it), the company still provides seminars to customers to enable them to optimize the use of the facility.

The system also allows a private user section and user polls.

Response time to visitor’s commands is very fast as the Argo Hosting datacenter uses high-capacity dedicated leased lines and Apple servers running on OS X, according to a statement from the company.

Poppe said the system is also economical because it can run without additional software.

“And the website is Google-ready, which means that its pages will be added in the Google index,” Poppe said. (LAP)
