Amara lots sell well despite crisis - CHI

Seldom does it happen that a high-end real estate development is already 92 percent sold during its grand launching.

Amara, a joint venture between Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI) and Coastal High-point Ventures (CHV), is one of the few residential
developments that experience high sales, even though the country is in the middle of an economic crisis.

“I thank many of you here who have already expressed interest in this project.

Thank you for believing in us. Your trust in us is our reason for investing,” Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) president Fernando Zobel de Ayala said during Amara’s grand launching at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino last week.

ALI is the mother company of CHI. CHV on the other hand is the owner of the lot where Amara is located.

“At full development, Amara will be another distinctive landmark in this part of Cebu. CHI has engaged the best consultants and the best planners for this residential development (to) make sure that we develop something truly unique and special for Cebu,” Ayala said.

The 46-hectare Amara, located in Catarman, Liloan, will be the first lighthouse community in the Philippines.

The lighthouse was entrusted by the government to the family of Chinese consul Ramon Chiu of CHV under the “Adopt a Lighthouse” program of the Philippine Coastguard.

“CHV exists because we want to provide families with the ultimate real estate experience,” Chiu said during the grand launching of the project. “We are motivated by the same essential and fundamental value that all of us have - our love for family, the most important and powerful motivation of all.”

Chiu said CHV saw the need to work with CHI to achieve the objective.

As of last week, 98 percent of Amara phase one, which comprises 114 lots, had been sold. (JBN)
