USJ-R inaugurates new building
The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) recently inaugurated the latest structure in its Basak campus, the Saint Ezekiel Moreno Building.
The blessing was officiated by Bishop Julito B. Cortes, DD, Auxiliary Bishop of Cebu, and attended by the whole Josenian family headed by USJ-R president and presiding officer of the school board Fr. Constantino B. Real, OAR.
The building will be the home of the College of Information Computer and Communications Technology and College of Education. All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with 700+ nodes of data connectivity, 1 Gig to the Desktop Ethernet connection, 2 E1 connections, 1 Data Center Room, 10 computer laboratories, 4 RaD laboratories, a digital design laboratory, speech laboratory and 20 lecture rooms, among others, geared towards addressing the industry requirements.
The building is built during the incumbency of Fr. Lauro V. Larlar, OAR, USJ-R Inc.’s prior provincial and chairman of the board of trustees. It is designed by R.L. Reyes Architects and Associates and constructed by Primary Structures, Inc. under the supervision of Engr. Neil L. Rom and the staff of the USJ-R Campus Planning and Development Office.
Activities during the blessing and inauguration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, unveiling of the marker, consecration of the altar and blessing of the chapel and the unveiling of the centennial monument. (Emily Jade B. Valero)
