Industry to launch information center
The Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation Inc. (CFIF) will launch on Nov. 15 the CFIF Information Center at the Teatro Casino Filipino of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Conceptualized in 2003 during the Market Intel Seminar conducted by the Center for the Promotions of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), the CFIF Information Center will help industry become more competitive.
The information center is funded by CBI and the European Union Asia Invest. It also gets technical support from the International Trade Centre (ITC).
ITC is the technical cooperation agency of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the World Trade Organization for operational, enterprise-oriented aspects of trade development.
The information center is envisioned to provide relevant, accurate, timely and strategic information for the Philippine home furnishings industry and related sectors such as educational, design and research institutions as well as other public and private agencies.
The center will conduct business matching and trai-ning, among others. (PR)
