Baria wins Class A title

Bobby Baria shot a day’s best net 62 to take the Class A division title of the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club Monthly Medal tournament over the weekend.

Baria started the day with a 34 and then shot 39 in the final nine holes to finish four strokes better than runner-up Ed Acain.

On the other hand, Edsel Tan got the best gross award of the division after carding a 70 on nines of 36 and 34.

Class B

In Class B, Jude Demiar brought home the title after scoring a 61, three strokes ahead of second-placer Deo Gabasa. Demiar opened with a 37 and closed out with a 39.

Ed Eroy’s 74 also got him the best gross award after scoring an impressive 35 in the front nine.

In Class C, Mon Arquiza’s stellar front nine got him the title after finishing with a day’s best of 64. Arquiza hit 40 in the front nine, before closing out with a 44. Alex Ngo finished second with a 70, while Rod Señido had nines of 38 and 41 to take the best gross with a 79.

Philip Huang was the best in the Seniors after shooting a 64, while Flor Eroy topped the Ladies division with a 72.

In the Jungolf division, Jan Ybañez shot a round of 71 to bring home the award.

Meanwhile, Señido teamed up with Boy Gonzalez to top the two-man team competition with a 59, just a stroke ahead of Demiar and Wilky Lim. Lino Dagus and Enrico Solon were at third with a 62, after losing the lead in the back nine.

Dagus and Solon were tied with the champions after the first nine holes with a 29, but faltered in the back nine with a 33. (ML)
