Unfortunately for the nation, President Arroyo has ceased to inspire. She elicits sympathy rather than respect, shows form rather than substance. She is a shade between what is true and what is false, between what is right and what is wrong.

She has become the rule separate and distinct from the law. She is a salt that has lost its strength, a light that casts more shadows.

But she is still our President. Perhaps, it is not her fault. Then, try the people.
