Cop survives murder try
A MAN on a motorcycle reportedly ambushed a policeman of the Fuente police precinct while he was maneuvering a road in Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City.
SPO3 Edilberto Solis Jr. was on his way home with his wife and a child in a Mitsubishi Lancer car Tuesday night when the attack happened.
PO3 Percy Alfafara said Solis told them that a man wearing a green shirt and brown shorts drove up beside his car and fired a shot past 6 p.m.
The bullet hit the windshield on the passenger’s side, but neither Solis nor his wife was injured.
Solis was not able to follow the gunman who was quick to make a U-turn heading to JY Square.
Solis’ colleagues said the policeman did not report for work yesterday. They knew about the incident through a phone call from Solis, the Fuente police’s desk officer during the day.
As of press time, the motive for the attack had yet to be determined.
A police investigator of Mabolo police precinct, which has jurisdiction over Nivel Hills, said Solis only told them that someone shot at him while he was on his way home with his wife in their Mitsubishi Lancer past 6 p.m.
No other details were given. (AIV)
