Magellan Lions to mark 37th year

Charter and other members of Magellan Lions Club and their Lionettes will celebrate their 37th charter anniversary at 7 tonight at the Oriental Star Restaurant located at the second floor of Diplomat Hotel on F. Ramos St.

Founded in 1968 by a group of businessmen and professionals headed by Amado F. Cabaero, then AVP and regional supervisor of Solidbank branches in Visayas and Mindanao, the Magellan Lions Club became one of the most popular and multi-awarded Lions clubs in Cebu City and in Lions District 301-B.

Expected to be present at the affair are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Yang, charter members. Frank became district governor of Lions District 301-B, composed of Lions clubs in the Visayas and Mindanao. He will talk about the future directions of the club for it to remain a relevant and useful member of the community.

Also present will be Mr. and Mrs. Amado F. Cabaero, returning residents of Cebu. Amado will reminisce with the members the glorious past of Magellan Lions Club and urge them to carry on its tradition of service to the community and fellowmen.

Special prizes are in store for the games and singing winners. President Chito Cabaero, Metrobank Mandaue branch manager, announced that there will be exchange of gifts worth at least P300 from each couple.

A donation of P200 per person for food and drinks will be appreciated. It will also entitle the donor to a raffle ticket.
